Athletic Club vs. Slavia Prague Europa League Live

Athletic Club will face Slavia Prague this Thursday at San Mamés in the third round of the Europa League, with both teams striving to climb higher in the standings, as both have earned four points from a possible six so far.

The two teams have identical early-season stats, each with four points, three goals scored, one goal conceded, and a +2 goal difference.

With these similarities, UEFA’s ranking places Slavia ninth, tied with a Danish side, while Athletic stands eleventh, level with Hoffenheim from Germany.

These rankings carry little significance at this stage, given the long road ahead in the competition, which is being met with unprecedented excitement in Bilbao, as the final will take place at San Mamés on May 21.

Athletic’s enthusiasm is fueled by their recent performance, having secured a valuable point in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome under intense pressure, and earning a solid, hard-fought victory at ‘La Catedral’ against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar (2-0).

In the latter match, the Williams brothers, Iñaki and Nico, were instrumental, emerging as the standout figures and symbols of the historic Basque club.

Both are expected to feature in the starting lineup, likely maintaining the usual first-choice team, though there are a couple of uncertainties in the midfield.

Ernesto Valverde faces a decision on who will partner with Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta in the double pivot—either Mikel Jauregizar or Beñat Prados.

Valverde may opt to start Oihan Sancet, who appears ready to return after recovering from a muscle injury.

This Europa League clash between the Basque and Czech teams will kick off on Thursday, October 24, at 21:00 local time.

For viewers in Mexico, the match will start at 15:00, and in Argentina, at 18:00
