Spain v Denmark Preview and TV Channel
Spain’s first match after winning the European Championship ended in a 0-0 draw against Serbia in Belgrade.
Luis de la Fuente’s team dominated the game, they couldn’t break through Serbia’s tough defense.
Spain created several dangerous chances but struggled with accuracy, and Serbia’s goalkeeper, Predrag Rajković, played a stormer in keeping them at bay.
Spain’s following fixture against Switzerland proved to be another tough test.
The Reds started strong, with quick goals from Joselu and Fabián Ruiz giving them a 2-0 lead by the 13th minute.
The momentum shifted when Robin Le Normand received a red card, and Spain conceded a goal before halftime.
David Raya made several important saves to prevent Switzerland from equalizing.
Just when it seemed that the Swiss might draw level, Spain countered effectively, with Fabián Ruiz and Ferran Torres scoring late goals to seal a 4-1 victory.
The result extended Spain’s unbeaten streak to 12 matches overall, 17 matches in official competitions, and five matches in the Nations League.
After Denmark’s exit from Euro 2024 at the hands of Germany in the Round of 16, head coach Kasper Hjulmand stepped down.
The Danish Football Union has yet to appoint a permanent replacement, with interim coaches Lars Knudsen and Morten Wiggoerst, alongside former player Daniel Agger, temporarily leading the team.
After this upheaval, Denmark has made a strong start, currently leading their Nations League group with six points.
Denmark played both of their September matches at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, securing two 2-0 wins.
In the match against Switzerland, they took advantage of a late numerical advantage, with 19-year-old Lecce winger Patrick Dorgu scoring his debut goal in the 82nd minute.
Captain Pierre-Emile Højbjerg added a second in stoppage time after playing a key role in Swiss captain Granit Xhaka’s red card.
Denmark also defeated Serbia, with a debut goal from Rennes midfielder Albert Grønbæk and a second-half strike from experienced striker Yussuf Poulsen firing them to victory.
