Accrington Stanley vs Tranmere Rovers live streaming, how to watch on tv

Tranmere Rovers return to the Crown Ground on Tuesday, 28th October, to take on Accrington Stanley in League Two, with kick-off at 7.45pm BST.

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Football+, with streaming available on Sky Go and NOW.

It’s not been the brightest of starts for either side, with both languishing in the lower half of the table, Accrington sit 22nd, while Tranmere are just a few places above them in 18th. But for Rovers, there are at least some fond memories of this ground. Back in April, they produced an incredible late comeback from three goals down to draw 3-3 here, and that dramatic finish will still be fresh in the minds of the travelling fans.

That spirit seems to have followed Tranmere on the road this season, as they’ve found their scoring touch away from home. Their 4-1 win at Bristol Rovers last week was a statement performance and should give Andy Crosby’s side plenty of belief that they can pick up another valuable three points on Tuesday night.

Accrington, though, are badly in need of a turnaround. They’ve endured a difficult run of form, losing five of their last six games in all competitions.

The only bright moment during that spell was an impressive 4-0 win against high-flying Swindon Town, but it’s been followed by four league defeats against Walsall, Barnet, Newport County, and Fleetwood Town. Confidence has clearly taken a hit, and home advantage hasn’t counted for much lately.

Tranmere’s form hasn’t been much more consistent, but there are encouraging signs. They’ve won two of their last nine in all competitions, including that dominant victory at Bristol Rovers and an EFL Trophy success against Barrow.

Four draws in that run show they’ve been competitive, but converting performances into wins remains the challenge.

Crosby will be hoping his side can build on their recent attacking form and stay disciplined defensively, especially given the frailties Accrington have shown. The hosts are conceding far too easily, and Tranmere’s pace in attack could cause real problems if they start brightly.

Both sides are desperate for points, but Tranmere’s recent away form gives them the edge heading into this one.

I’m expecting another lively contest at the Crown Ground, and if Rovers play with the same intent they showed at Bristol, they might just come away with another important win on the road.
